The 2011 Thoughts of Spring Blog Party caught my attention. It gives bloggers a chance to share a little bit about themselves with their readers. Since I am new to the blogasphere, I thought that I would join the party and have selected several of the suggested questions to answer. Hope you enjoy learning a little more about the mom behind Hybrid Rasta Mama!
What is your comfort food/drink? I absolutely LOVE my homemade spiced chai tea lattes. These are amazing on cold days as well as days when you need some emotional upliftment. Super easy to make in advance so you are well prepared for the days you really need it.
Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself. I do not have two of my permanent molars. I had to have one of the remaining baby molars pulled a few years ago and I still have the other one but it’s not long for this world. I also am immune to Novocain. Yep – I do not get numb. I have sat through all kinds of dental work (teeth pulling, root canals, bridge work) without being numb. Clearly, I have a high threshold for pain.
If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money? I would definitely pay off our mortgage as well as that of my parents and in-laws. That would eat up all of the money but it would feel good knowing we were all house payment free!
Name one weakness of yours (confession is good for the soul). I am really, really, really stubborn. I am also right 99% of the time (which really is a curse!) Hee hee.
If you could live anywhere at all (and take all your loved ones with you), where would you go? I would absolutely go live in Jamaica. That little island holds a piece of my soul. One day, trust me, I will live there.
What’s something you consider yourself to be good at? (Don’t worry, it’s not bragging, it’s acknowledging a God given gift). I am really good at grant writing. I have been able to bring in a lot of money for the animal rescue organizations I have volunteered with.
What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of? That first-rain-of-the-year-on-pavement smell is DIVINE!
When you leave a social gathering, do you wish: You would have talked more or You would have talked less? Hahahaha! Probably talked less and kept my foot out of my mouth more.
What is your greatest fear or strange phobia? Clowns. Oh gosh, I sure do despise those things. I got the shivers even writing the word.
And there you have it…some randomness about me!

Great answers! I’m visiting from Lynette’s blog.
Visiting from Lynnette’s to laugh and say that I, too, LOVE the smell of rain on pavement – especially in the heat of summer!
Nice to “meet” you!
Visiting from Lynnette’s Blog Party! Check out my post: http://makinghomeworkblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/are-you-ready-to-party.html
That first rain smell is the best, it’s so cleansing!
Blessings!
I too am stubborn. But getting better. I took a class on grant writing but have never actually done it in real life…
Droppig in to say Hi with the blog party!
Novocain doesn’t work? Ouch. In the past I’ve had to have higher doses, but it does work at least a little.
Enjoyed my stop….I am not a fan of clowns either….
Whoa, whoa whoa, whoa whoa! Can I get your recipe for spiced chai lattes? I love them but every coffee shop makes them different. I’d love to have just one that is consistent. It’d be super awesome if I made it myself.
Okay.
Going back to reading.
I seriously stopped after that sentence to comment.
Now for the rest of the post.
P.S. if you don’t want to, I’ll understand. Not really. But I’ll pretend to. No pressure.
Good to know you a little more.
HAHAHAHAHA Jess. That cracked me up!!!!!! Email me your email address and I will gladly get you the recipe. Pretty easy once you have all the ingredients! They are SOOOOOO AMAZING!
YAY!!!! *does a jig*
Okay.
I’m waiting….
