I am having a GREAT time with this blog! All of the comments and questions I am receiving are thought provoking and inspiring. Thank you and keep them coming!
Having said that, I am getting serious about my blog and setting up a schedule for posts. This way, you know what to expect when. This will also help me stay on track since I have been willy nilly about the whole thing. Here is the schedule that I have in mind:
Monday – Mama’s Monday Musings. I love this day! You get to see little snippets of my life as well as the inner working of my mind!
Tuesday – Parenting post of the week
Wednesday – My day off! J
Thursday – Recipe of the Week
Friday – Mindful Mother Challenge Results
Saturday – Links to posts I have written as a contributor for the Natural Parents Network and Job Description Mommy. In addition, I will include any other guest posts from that week. If I do not have any links to share then I will post another parenting post or a traditional foods post.
2nd Sunday of each month – GUEST POST Sunday! If you are interested in writing a guest post, please let me know. I would like to expose my readers to other great bloggers as well as to some post that I have read and loved! You don’t have to have a blog to write a post for me either. Feel free to submit one anyway! The other Sundays will either be a day off or another post from me. We’ll see if I can keep the overachiever at bay!
Pease keep in mind that I participate in a couple of blog Carnivals which have specific posting schedules. These posts might trump one of my regularly schedule posts. Have to remain flexible!
Having said all of that, do you think that this posting schedule will keep you interested? To many posts? Too few posts? Not the kinds of posts you want to see? What about my Facebook interaction? Would you like to see more? I do not do a whole lot on there other than notify you of new posts as well as introduce you to some other bloggers or post links. Thoughts please!
I am going to start work on my blogroll page. If you have a blog and would like to be included, please email me you blog name, link, Facebook/Twitter links if you have them and a two line description of your blog. If you have a badge for your blog you can include that although I have not decided if I am going to use these on my blogroll page. We’ll see what I come up with! Email me at hybridrastamama [at} hotmail [dot] com.
Are you liking my posts as is or would you prefer to see some pictures or images included? I personally like to just read text but if you would like to see some imagery, by all means, let me know. I want the blog to be appealing to everyone!
I am going to hold what I hope will be a nice giveaway week in late spring. I am lining up some great items from my favorite Etsy artisans. However, most of them have a requirement that I have a minimum of 300 fans on Facebook. I know that this is doable but I do not want to start collecting “likes” and fans just for the sake of raising my numbers. I am really only interested in real fans who appreciate and value the posts that I write. So, if you know of anyone who would truly be interested in my blog, please refer them. The giveaway will happen when it is meant to happen!
Here is a funny story to end my musings today. We are lucky enough to live in an area where there are lots of small farms and plenty of acreage. Tiny LOVES to visit all of the various animals throughout the week. We have sheep, goats, horses of every size and shape, donkeys, cows, geese, ducks, chickens, and a host of other unique animals all within walking distance. Today was “Dirty Horse” day. “Dirty Horse” is this huge horse who technically is white but whose owners do not take very good care of him so he is usually a gray or brown color. Tiny and I gathered some carrots and headed off to the park, ending our morning with a visit to feed “Dirty Horse.” He came galloping over, snorted in Tiny’s face, gobbled the carrots (and my fingers) then showed his appreciation by turning around and plastering us in “Dirty Horse” diarrhea. Oh yeah – Tiny and I were dripping in horse poop. The stroller looked like I dunked it into a pool of poo. And all I could do was collapse into a ball of laughter. Tiny had to laugh too although she was pretty concerned with getting the poo off of her hands so she could then wipe her face. We walked the ½ mile home with cars going by and people giving us some rather odd looks. I called my husband to give him warning that I would need help. He didn’t seem to believe my story but as we walked up the driveway his exact words were “holy shit Batman. Dirty Horse sure lived up to his name.” And then he proceeded to do everything he could NOT to get near either one of us. Ha! Anyway, that was actually the second time that morning that Tiny and I were covered in poop and believe it or not, it was not the last of the day! Tiny has some MADDDDDDDDDD blowouts yesterday. There was poop dripping from her earlobes. Oh yes – I know that you are super, super jealous of me right now. I bet you are wishing that you and your toddler could have been covered in poop four times in one day. J
So that’s about it for now. I’m off to get a little housework done. Tiny will be helping of course!
Blessings,
Jennifer

I am so glad that I hadn’t yet gotten lunch- I would’ve spit food everywhere dying of laughter. Sorry Jenn I know at your expense- but that just MADE my Monday!

I think your posting schedule sounds exciting! Especially the recipe ones as I am always looking for new meal ideas. The only thing with scheduling so many posts is keeping up with it every week and it also gives each post less time on your front page to get many hits. Not that you’re in it for the traffic anyways, but just thought I should point that out. Something I also enjoy seeing is images on posts to break up all the writing and add an additional visual element. Not that you need to improve your already awesome posts or anything, but including pictures would make it even more fun to read! As for your hilarious poop story: this made my day and laughed myself senseless and couldn’t read it aloud to my husband properly because I was laughing so hard.
