Reuseable/Washable Produce Bag Giveaway!!!

Today I am so pleased to bring you a special giveaway from another one of my favorite shops on Etsy. QWERTY O caught my attention some time ago while I was on my quest to reduce our carbon footprint by no longer using the plastic produce and bulk bin item bags from the grocery store. After an exhaustive search on Etsy, I decided that the bags listed in QWERTY O’s shop were not only the most cost effective but also sounded like the sturdiest and best made option out there. I ordered a combo set and a few days later headed off to the store to see what these bags could do. I was extremely impressed. These reusable bags were extremely sturdy with one of the larger bags holding 8 grapefruits with no complaints. Bulk bin items – no problem! I quickly ordered another set with custom sizes and then ordered several more sets after that. I gave these sets as gifts and everyone loves them!

I have ended up using these bags for everything from holding fresh produce (and storing it in the refrigerator) to holding my bulk bin items, to holding Tiny’s hair accessories, to storing lose items of various sorts, to serving as a snack bag. These bags will pretty much hold anything securely!

In addition to these wonderful produce/bulk item bags, QWERTY O offers market bags to hold all of these produce bags full of your finds! They also offer reusable Swiffer style pads. I recently tried one and am in love!!! I had purchased a couple of microfiber pads from a big box store long ago but was never really impressed with their ability to deep clean. QWERTY O’s Swiffer pads have one side with a mesh/netting type of fabric that really gets the job done. It easily removed some ground in guck from our hardwood kitchen floor. The microfiber side was also far superior to what I was using previously. It gave the floor a nice shine when I used it as a dry mop. I will certainly be using the QWERTY O pads from now on!

Please tell me a little bit about your background and what led you down this creative path?

Susan and Kristen are a mother and daughter team who both place a priority on being ecofriendly. Susan (the mother) has sewn for a long time and was looking for ways to be more ecofriendly and less wasteful and thought of the reusable produce bags. Kristen was a fan of Etsy and gave her mother the idea of sharing her invention by opening a shop.

Kristen is an ambitious young lady and wanted to find a way to save for her educational expenses. Susan handed over the produce bag section of her Etsy shop and off she went. In the course of three years, she has grown the reusable bag selection from one basic style to so much more!

What can we expect to find in your shop?

QWERTY O’s shop is all ecofriendly items. The produce bags and the Swiffer pads will last a long, long time. Susan’s Swiffer pads are already two years old and going strong.

What is/was your favorite item you have created and why?

Although not listed in their shop, Susan has found memories of creating baby and children’s clothing for her family through the years.

Kristen and Susan are offering the Combo 5 pack of the washable, reusable produce/bulk item bags. The bags are see-through, durable and lightweight nylon mesh bags and knit perfect for the local farmer’s market! Or, great for use at the grocery store in the produce aisles. Come home with NO plastic bags! Use the bags for storage in the fridge! These are NOT made from tulle but from a strong nylon mesh and nylon knit. Drawstrings tie it all shut.

The bags are completely washable. Just rinse when empty and roll in a clean dishtowel.

Kristen is getting ready to graduate from high school and move on to the next phase of her life which will include pursuing coursework in veterinary sciences. She will continue sewing bags as well as using her cosmetology skills (a result of her completing cosmetology school through an ROP program) to advance her education.
