The time has come. All good things must eventually come to an end! It is with great sadness that I remind you that tonight, at 11:59pm PST, the Toadally Primal Wellness Bundle eBook Sale comes to a finish. Done. Gone forever.
I wanted to take just a minute to share with you my thoughts on a few of the books that are part of this bundle – just in case you have been on the fence about it!
But before I do – IF you purchase the bundle through MY link today, you can enter to win a $50 Tropical Traditions Gift Certificate (on top of the OTHER giveaway I mentioned in my original post). Use the rafflecopter entry system below! And don’t forget – I have a special eBook for you as well!
I have not had the opportunity to READ every single book that is part of the bundle. If I had, I would not have slept for 5 days straight. Obviously, my sanity trumps. However, I did peruse those books I was not familiar with already and I did read a few of them in more depth! I can say with certainty that this is an eBook bundle that goes far beyond the implied “Primal” theme.
I think it is important to share that yes, there is a paleo/primal focus. However, there are plenty of recipes in my eBook, Cooking With Coconut Oil, that are vegetarian. And remember, my book is $19.99. So for $19 more, you get 32 other eBooks, not all of which are paleo recipe focused. The real food cookbooks have plenty of non-paleo options in them!
If you or someone you know if on GAPS, then this bundle is a must purchase. There are 6 eBooks with a specific GAPS/GAPS inspired focus. That is a TON of GAPS legal recipes. I don’t know about you but I like to have an actual recipe book more than a favorites list of recipe websites. 6 GAPS friendly cookbooks is a dream for someone like me who is still on GAPS.
So I am sure you are wondering what books are at the top of my list. Well, based on the ones I have read or was already familiar with, my top picks in no particular order are:
Beyond Grain and Dairy
Starlene from Gaps Diet Journey really went all out on this book! I actually have a formal review coming soon but honestly, this is probably one of my favorite “GAPS” friendly recipe books. Going both grain and dairy free is tough but Starlene makes it easy and delicious.
Freezer Cooking Guide For Grain Free Meal Plans
I have a whole review on my blog about this resource. Check it out here.
For all the newer parents or soon-to-be parents, this is an excellent resource. Food is so very powerful and the start you give your child nutritionally can be the make it or break it for the future health…for life! Heather from Mommypotamus is an excellent writer (witty and charming too) making this an easy read that is quite eye-opening.
Toadally Primal Smoothies
Smoothie season will be here before you know it. Shoot – smoothie season is a year-round thing for me! Anyway, I was floored by the creative combinations in this book. Holy. Wow. For real! Todd went all out, creating some exotic flavor combinations to round out the more basic ones. My favorite section hands down is the Kombucha Smoothie section. I made the Pumpkin Kombucha smoothie and went straight to my happy place.
Eat For Heat
I mentioned this on my Facebook page but for those who had not seen it, I am NOT a fan of this book’s author Matt Stone. Sure, he has a way with words but I am not convinced that his advice is all that great. But then I sat down and read Eat for Heat. And a little light bulb went on in my head. Yes, there is a bit of take-it or leave-it happening in the book but really, Matt completely blows the lid off of the 8 glasses of water per day rule and he does so in a way that made perfect sense. Seriously. What he discusses falls right in line with how I feel when I drink water. I actually think that this book is very eye opening with real food for thought about how and when we consume water. It is a great addition to the bundle I think!
Indulge – 70 Grain Free Recipes
Everyone loves a little treat every now and then. If that treat is really healthy (or as healthy as it can be, even better right? Indulge is exactly that. An indulgence! Every category of treat imaginable is covered in here! My favorite section was the icing and sauces section because that seems to be where I personally fall short in the creative baking arena. Trust me, you WILL find something you love in this book. My new obsession is the grain free funnel cake. Yes, that’s right. FUNNEL CAKE! Healthy funnel cake.
