5 “Real Food” Style Simple Syrup Recipes For Mocktails

I’m not a big alcohol drinker anymore. I might have a glass of wine for a special occasion but honestly, my body simply cannot handle the alcohol anymore. Having colitis will do that to you!

Anyway, I love the idea of a fun “mocktail” during the warm summer months. However, all the really yummy sounding recipes call for Simple Syrup. Simple syrup is about as unhealthy as it comes. All sugar basically. So I decided to clean it up a bit and create several honey sweetened versions of some frequently called for Simple Syrups.

Tiny thanks you by the way! She loved sampling these!

Comments

  1. I hate to say it, but as far as the body is concerned the sugar in honey is just as unhealthy as table sugar. Any really healthful properties of the honey (antimicrobial, antibacterial, etc) are destroyed when you heat it to the boiling point.
