Poop seems to be a really exciting topic for me to write about lately! In the past couple of months, I have written about it 6 times!
I have been getting a lot of emails and messages asking me if I have “poop book” recommendations for children. Seems like you all would like to know what is in Tiny’s poop library! Well – good news! We literally have tons of books on poop! Some are about going poop and others are about identifying poop. Cool right?
Below you will find our recommended reading list with links to find them from my affiliate partner, Amazon! Check a few out and see what you think! There is something for everyone on this list. And yes, we literally have all of these books. Tiny is somewhat of a poo aficionado!
This is a classic! I remember sitting on the toilet while my parent’s read it to me! Great illustrations and simple storyline to help little ones see that everyone poops!
This lift-the-flap book is perfect for super little ones who are just beginning their potty adventures. Very cute and engaging with great photos!
The Moose With Loose Poops
This is a great book to have on hand when children get some intestinal distress. It helps them to better understand what is happening and why. While I don’t necessarily agree 100% with the treatment plan, you can modify it a bit as you tell the story.
This is a very clever little book that takes children on a journey from the time food enters their mouth until the time it exits the body! Using a train to tell the tail will captivate children of all ages. The illustrations of beautiful as well!
This work of fiction is very tongue in cheek and might be a tad over a wee one’s head but I found it hysterical and quite often was laughing out loud! The illustrations are brilliant and the factual information is included in a way that makes it very memorable. This is a must own for all poo lovers!
Clever, cleaver book which disguises a great history lesson in a fun topic for kids! Probably best for 8 years and up but smaller children might get a kick out of it as well. The focus is not only on bodily functions, but also on the larger public-health challenges created by mass urbanization in the ancient and modern world as well as the ability of societies to deal with these problems. Very captivating read!
This book has been SOOOO much fun to use on our nature walks! Great illustrations and Tiny has been easily able to find and identify native scat!
This book is epic! I actually learned a lot myself and cannot believe how many uses poop has in nature. Truly incredible!
(Large collection in the series broken down by different geographic areas).
The entire “Who Pooped” Collection is brilliant! Find your local area and use that Who Pooped book for scat identification!
And for the grownups – simply my favorite book ever! Even Tiny likes it! GREAT illustrations, accurate info, and a great poo reference guide with a bit of well placed humor!
